Hazal Kavlak

Biography

Hazal is a translation student in her third year at Marmara University, where she studies German Translation and Interpreting. Her work focuses on how language works, how different cultures communicate, and the best ways to turn complex ideas from one language into another.

She is particularly interested in a style called "foreignizing" translation. This approach respects the original culture of a book or document by keeping its unique feel, rather than making it sound exactly like a local text.
