Matthew Allison

Biography

Graduating from the University of Waikato with a BA in History and Political Science in 2021, Matthew focused much of his studies on military history, writing extensively on musketry during and after Japan's Sengoku Jidai period. Being a South African who immigrated to New Zealand, he believes in holding to one's roots and not forgetting the past. This ethos is evident in his love for history and niche, little-known events throughout the past, as shown in his writings on the WHE. He sincerely hopes that what he writes will encourage others to seek out further knowledge about periods throughout history that may not be so well known.
