Brandon M. Bender

Biography

I am a writer from the United States with a focus on medieval history, medievalism, and US history. Within medieval studies, I primarily write about eleventh century England but have also published work on Norse Greenland.

My freelance writing career began in 2013, and I started writing about history in 2017 when my medieval history professor suggested that I present at a conference and then publish my research. Despite being an undergraduate, I followed my professor’s advice and have been writing about history ever since. I have presented my work at academic conferences, contributed to magazines for the general public, and been published in peer-reviewed journals. My aim is to write about history in a way that is both engaging and backed by modern scholarship.

My forthcoming book, The Viking Conquest of England, is expected in 2026 from Pen and Sword History.
