Biography
Cindy Meijer studied Classics & Ancient Civilizations at the VU University Amsterdam and has a specialization in Assyrian and Babylonian language and culture. She is interested in the Old Testament, Mesopotamian literature, the Hellenistic period, mythology and prophetic texts. After her graduation she did a traineeship in the Allard Pierson Museum in Amsterdam. She also spent three months at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster to do research and intensify her knowledge of biblical Hebrew. At the moment she is a PhD student at the VU. Her research focuses on the political background of predictive texts from the Hellenistic Near East. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, painting and reading about the ancient world.
