The White Tower is the symbol of Thessaloniki, Greece. During the Ottoman occupation of the city, it was used as a prison. The White Tower was constructed in the 15th century, following the Ottoman conquest of Thessaloniki in 1430. The tower was presented to the Ministry of Culture in 1983.
