Biography
Mark is WHE's Publishing Director. He is a professional writer, researcher, historian, and editor. His studies at the University of York and University of Teesside focused on political history, constitutional theory, military history, and political philosophy. He has been a history writer since 2012. He is interested in art and architecture, and especially ancient pottery and what these everyday objects can reveal about past lives and traditions. Other interests include maritime history, exploration, and polar history. Having lived in Italy and the Czech Republic, been a frequent visitor to Greece, and now based in France, he is a great believer in Jacque-Yves Cousteau's maxim: Il Faut aller voir - we must go and look for ourselves - and hopes his articles and photos will inspire visitors to WHE to do the same.
'I have no need to observe that I do not wilfully or negligently mislead my readers, and that before I wrote that description I took pains to investigate the subject.'
Charles Dickens
