Serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 - 1990, Margaret Thatcher became the first woman to serve in that role and the longest serving PM in 20th century Britain. Views on her premiership are incredibly polarisizing as the lasting effects of her policies are still a point of contention between supporters and critics. This portrait was taken towards the end of her tenure.
