Chinese Terracotta Warrior
Although the lowest-ranking soldiers wore little or no armour, higher-ranking infantrymen wore lamellar armour made of overlapping leather strips or metal plates. This life-size replica of a soldier is part of the Terracotta Army in the tomb of the Qin Dynasty Chinese emperor Shi Huangdi. c. 210 BCE.
