Biography
Arash Ahmadzadeh is an Iranian musicologist and guitarist based in Paris, specialising in Baroque music, particularly the musical culture of France under Louis XIV. Born and raised in Tehran, he moved to France in 2017 to study musicology at the University of Reims.
After completing his undergraduate degree, Ahmadzadeh continued his studies at Sorbonne University, graduating with a master’s degree in musicology in 2023. He now teaches guitar to children and adults at the Conservatoire municipal de Breuillet in the Paris region, while continuing his research on French musical heritage.
In 2026, Ahmadzadeh was admitted to the PhD programme in Musicology at Harvard University with full funding, after also receiving doctoral offers from several leading British universities.
His academic work and unusual journey from Tehran to French musical scholarship were profiled by recognized media such as Le Monde, Radio France and IRNA. He has also published research in French and spent three years volunteering with a choir for retired singers.
