Ara Pacis Augustae: Tellus Mater Panel. Mould workshop of National Museum of Berlin, 19th century CE, plaster. Altar of Augustus, 13 - 9 BCE, marble, Rome. Musée L. Louvain-la-neuve, Brussels. This high relief panel depicts Tellus Mater (Mother Earth) and is an allegory of the prosperity during Augustus’s reign (27 BCE-14 CE). The nurturing Earth is portrayed alongside two young women, personifications of Air and Wind.
