The Orašac Assembly saw 300 Serbian chiefs and rebels organize to revolt against Ottoman rule in Serbia following the organized murder and attack on Serbian nobles in Belgrade. The First Serbian Uprising was defeated by the Ottoman Empire, although continued efforts for independence continued throughout the 19th century.
