A model of the SS Great Eastern. It was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel (1806-59) and completed in 1858. It was the largest ship in the world at 692 feet (211 m) long. Model made by John Scott Russell and Co. The scale of the model is 1:96. (Science Museum, London)
