An 1883 oil on canvas, Nude in a Landscape, by Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919) the French impressionist painter. A single female nude in nature was a favourite subject of Renoir's. This work has typical features of such canvases: translucent skin, soft lines and colours, and a hazy natural background. (Musée de l'Orangerie, Paris)
