SMS Scharnhorst, Tsingtao — View Full-Size Image

A mid-1914 photograph of the German Imperial Navy warship SMS Scharnhorst docked at the German colony of Tsingtao, mainland China. Tsingtao was captured in November 1914 after an amphibious attack by Japanese and British forces during the First World War (1914-18).
