Following the First World War (1914-1918), on 28 June 1919 the signing of the Treaty of Versailles at the Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of Versailles set out the terms of peace. From left to right: German Foreign Minister Hermann Müller, PM Lloyd George, PM Vittorio-Emanuele Orlando, Baron Makino Nobuaki, PM Georges Clemenceau, and President Woodrow Wilson.
