Aemilian (Artistic Facial Reconstruction) — View Full-Size Image

Aemilian (r. 253 CE) was yet another short-lived emperor who rose to power on the sufferance of the Roman army. He quickly lost favour with his men and was killed a month later by Valerian (r. 253-260 CE), who ruled after him.

Pictured alongside the reconstruction are four coin portraits used as references.
