Volusian (Artistic Facial Reconstruction)
Volusian was the son and co-emperor of Trebonianus Gallus (r. 251-253). Foreign invaders, rebellions and plague destabilized the Roman Empire during the reign of Volusian and Gallus. When a rival emperor Aemilian (r. 253 CE) emerged, Volusian and his father were killed by their own soldiers.
Pictured alongside the reconstruction is the bust of Volusianus from the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Tours.
