Antisthenes & the Cynics

Founded by Antisthenes, a student of Socrates, the Cynics would be a minor philosophical school throughout the Greco-Roman classical period. Famous for their obscenity, asceticism and virtue they challenged convention and influenced the later and more important Stoics.
