The Hyksos are mentioned in the Bible but are referred to as "Amorites". The Amorite Empire flourished across the entire middle east from 1800 B.C.E. until 1550 B.C.E. Dr. Neiman explains the difference between the Amorite empire of the East of which Hammurabi ruled during the Old Babylonian period and the West, in which they inhabited the land of Canaan.
