Biography
My passion for history and my passion for travelling grew up together. I learned about history through the places I visited, and later chose my travels based on the places I'd read about in books. There's nothing more exciting than setting your feet on the same stones as the people who came before you.
I'm originally from Montréal, Canada, but have lived on both coasts of the United States, Australia, Burkina Faso, and now France. I currently study medieval Islam. I'm researching masculinity through the travel accounts of Ibn Battûta, who went from Tunisia to China to Malaysia, and back again, in the 14th century.
I have a B.A. in Social Studies from Harvard College, and am currently working towards a Masters degree in History, Civilizations and Heritage at Aix-Marseille University.
