Biography
Daan Nijssen is an Ancient Studies graduate from VU University with a major in New Babylonian/Assyrian Language & Culture. His main research interest is to explain the rise of the Achaemenid Empire between 750 and 450 BCE, a subject on which he is currently writing a book. Other research interests include comparative mythology, prehistoric migrations and the nomadic and tribal societies of Central Asia. He writes about all these topics in his free time.
