Remains of the Roman amphitheatre of ancient Serdica, modern Sofia, Bulgaria. Built outside the eastern city wall toward the end of the 3rd century CE on an earlier Roman theatre, it could accommodate about 25,000 spectators. Seven seats are preserved today in their original positions.
