Nicholas Bartlett Pearce, photograph by an unknown photographer, c. 1828 to c. 1894.
Nicholas Bartlett Pearce, better known as N. Bart Pearce, was the commander of the Army of Arkansas, contributing to the Confederate victory at the Battle of Wilson's Creek in 1861. At the war's end, Pearce obtained a pardon from President Andrew Johnson, and he later died in March 1894 in Dallas, Texas.
