Ruined pillars at the Capitolium of Uthina, photograph by Carole Raddato, Oudhna, Tunisia, 12 February, 2023.

The partly reconstructed Capitolium on the acropolis of Uthina (Oudhna in modern-day Tunisia) was constructed under Emperor Hadrian, and dedicated to the Capitoline Triad of Roman gods (Jupiter, Juno and Minerva). The temple stood in the Forum and was built on a high podium, made possible by constructing an artificial terrace at the edge of the hill. It must have had a porticoed square, a basilica and other public buildings.
