Portrait of Benjamin Franklin Bache, a grandson of Benjamin Franklin and the editor of the Philadelphia Aurora, a partisan newspaper supporting the Democratic-Republican Party. Bache was arrested under the Alien and Sedition Acts and died of yellow fever while awaiting trial in September 1798.
