A 1902 oil on canvas, A Pathway in Monet's Garden, by Claude Monet (1840-1926), the French impressionist painter. This is a view of Monet's garden in Giverny, specifically planted with a wide variety of flowers so that he could paint them. Here purple irises border the path leading to the artist's pink and green-shuttered house. (Künstoriches Museum, Vienna, Austria)
