A c. 1888-90 portrait in oils, Madame Cézanne in a Yellow Armchair by Paul Cézanne (1839-1906), the French post-impressionist artist. Cézanne's wife, Marie-Hortense Fiquet (1850-1922), was a frequent sitter for the artist. This version uses the three primary colours – red, yellow, and blue – to create a striking composition.
