A photorealistic reconstruction of what the Roman emperor Numerian (r. 283-284 CE) may have looked like. Based on contemporary and near contemporary descriptions, as well as archaeological evidence. Pictured alongside the reconstruction are the portraits used as references, including a possible bust of Numerian from the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, a coin portrait of Numerian, as well as de-aged portraits of his father and brother. Made using Photoshop and Artbreeder, a neural net tool.
