A photorealistic reconstruction of what the Roman emperor Lucius Verus (r. 161-169 CE) may have looked like. Based on contemporary and near contemporary descriptions, as well as archaeological evidence.

Pictured alongside the reconstruction are the busts and statuary used as references. These include the bust from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the colossal head of Lucius Verus from the Louvre (right), and the Vatican bust. Made using Photoshop and Artbreeder, a neural net tool.
