These two mummies are identified as Aline's daughters, from the Tomb of Aline, c. 24 CE. The girl on the left is older (4 years old) than the one on the right, who is 2.5 years old (the latter was initially thought to be a boy, not a girl). The names of these two girls are unknown. The portrait of the older girl somewhat resembles that of her mother; a serious-looking girl looks at us from a colorfully executed face.

Early Roman period of Egypt. They are on display at the Neues Museum, Berlin, Germany. The tomb of Aline was unearthed in 1892 CE by the German archaeologist Richard von Kaufmann (1850 - 1908 CE). A hewn stele carved with a Greek inscription mentions the name Aline as the owner of the tomb; the grave was named after this woman's name.
