Pan Statue, Campo Marzio
Faunus was the Roman god of the forests and fields. He was equated with the Greek god Pan. In some Roman traditions, he was the grandson of Saturn and the father of Bona Dea. Faunus is depicted with the hindquarters and horns of a goat, and often other goat-like features, much like a satyr. Pictured: Statue of Pan/Faunus. Campus Martius, Rome. (Capitoline Museums, Rome).
