Anubis Tending to a Mummy
Anubis was the god of mummification and the afterlife, responsible for guiding lost souls to the Duat. One of Egypt’s oldest gods, he is easily recognizable for his black jackal-head. Pictured: Relief from the necropolis at Deir el-Medina. Thebes, Egypt. 1279-1213 BCE.
