Attic red-figure cup (kylix) depicting an athlete ready to throw a javelin. Javelin throwing was another Olympic event in ancient Greece and is still included in the modern Olympic Games. From Vulci (Italy), around 440-430 BCE. (Altes Museum, Berlin)
