In this introduction to Ancient Scepticism, I look at Pyrrhonism through its four most important philosophers: Pyrrho of Elis, Timon, Aenesidemus, and Sextus Empiricus. First I look at some of the basic arguments and problems laid down by both Pyrhho and the Academic Sceptics of Ancient Greece, then I look at the 10 modes of Aenesidemus and the 5 modes of Agrippa, both of which are discussed in Sextus Empiricus' Outlines of Pyrrhonism. I also introduce epoche, ataraxia, and equipollence.
