Located in the Roman Forum, between the Temple of Divus Julius and Temple of the Castores, this triple arch celebrated either Augustus' victory over Cleopatra and Mark Antony at the Battle of Actium in 30 BCE (Actium Arch) or celebrated his return of the lost Parthian standards to Rome in 19 BCE. Ancient sources point to the Actium arch being the one in the forum. The other may never have been constructed. Fasti Consulares and the Fasti Triumphales found in the 16th Century CE in the vicinity may have decorated the arch as well, or, alternatively, the Regia.
