Zada Ballew

Boozhoo (Hello)! My name is Zada Ballew and I'm an enrolled citizen of the Pokégnek Bodéwadmik (Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians) and a Ph.D. candidate in United States history at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. My research, writing, and teaching centers Native histories, Indigeneity, storytelling, land claims and land acknowledgements, memory, mythmaking, and survivance. I love studying history because it uses stories from the past to help guide us in our present as we work to make a better future for us all.
