Biography
Kyra Sanchez Clapper is an Upper School French and AP World History teacher at St. Agnes Academy as well as an adjunct professor of History and French at the University of Memphis. She recently obtained her PhD from the Department of History at the University of Memphis, where she specializes in modern European history, French history, environmental history, and Romanticism. Her dissertation, “Les jardins exotiques: Early French Romanticism and Its Impact on Travel Inspired Nineteenth-Century French Gardens”, is an environmental history of transatlantic botanical exchange in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries that integrates scientific and literary historiographies.
