Joanne is a freelance proofreader and copyeditor passionate about language usage as well as world mythology and folklore. Interested in Buddhist architecture, one of her favourite mythological creatures is the makara.
After graduating from the University of York with a BSc in Psychology, Joanne travelled through Europe and ended up teaching English in Sri Lanka for several years. She taught science in the UK for almost a decade, then returned to the tropics. She can now be found chasing her children around the Sri Lankan wilderness where she lives with her husband and too many animals.
