This silver plate is decorated with a gilt portrait of the celebrated Roman Empire Marcus Aurelius. It was uncovered in the vault of a member of the royal family at Armaztsikhe in what is modern Georgia. This piece dates from c. 190-300 CE. (Georgian National Museum, Tbilisi)
