Brooklyn Museum, New York The text is in cuneiform script and in the Akkadian language. The text (known as the Standard Inscription) traces Ashurnasirpal II's lineage, tells of his military victories, how he founded Kalhu, built the palaces there, and defines the boundaries of his empire.
