A five-star general and the 34th president of the USA (1953-1961). Eisenhower was Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary force in Europe during WWII, he planned Operation Torch in 1942/43 and the invasion of Normandy in 1944. His Interstate Highway System revolutionised travel and commerce in the USA.
