Statue of James Bonham, photograph by Larry D. Moore, 2018.
Created by sculptor Allie Tenant in 1938, this statue, located in the eponymous city of Bonham, Texas, commemorates James Butler Bonham (1807-1836), who brought word on 3 March 1836 that reinforcements were en route to lift the siege at the Alamo. They never arrived. Three days later, Bonham was among the last to fall in the Battle of the Alamo.
