The launch of the hull of RMS Lusitania in June 1906 from the John Brown Shipyard on the River Clyde in Scotland. The liner was sunk off the coast of Ireland by a German U-boat torpedo on 7 May 1915 during the First World War (1914-18). (Imperial War Museums)
