An 1872 oil on canvas, The Bridge at Villeneuve-la-Garenne, by Alfred Sisley (1839-1899), the Franco-British impressionist painter. The bridge was built in 1844 and linked the Parisian suburb of Saint-Denis to Villeneuve. (Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York)
