A c. 1876 painting in oils, Bathers at Rest, by Paul Cézanne (1839-1906), the French post-impressionist artist. Cézanne painted many variations of this scene throughout his career. The background landscape in this case is Mont Saint-Victoire in southern France. (Barnes Foundation, Philadelphia)
