A photorealistic representation of what the Roman emperor Vitellius (r. 69 CE) may have looked like. Pictured alongside the reconstruction are the artworks and statuary used as references. From left to right and top to bottom are the Louvre Pseudo-Vitellius; painting by Peter Paul Rubens (1577–1640 CE); Glyptotek bust; and the bust from the Rubens House in Antwerp. Based on contemporary and near contemporary descriptions, as well as archaeological evidence and contemporary artwork. Made using Photoshop and Artbreeder, a neural net tool.
