Riverbanks by Cézanne
A c. 1905 painting in oils, Riverbanks, by Paul Cézanne (1839-1906), the French post-impressionist artist. This provençal scene shows Cézanne's developing style towards greater geometrical abstraction, an approach that would influence later cubism and artists like Pablo Picasso. (Private Collection)
