Mont Sainte-Victoire by Cézanne
A c. 1903 landscape in oils, Mont Sainte-Victoire, by Paul Cézanne (1839-1906), the French post-impressionist artist. Cézanne painted the mountain, located in southern France just east of Aix-en-Provence, almost 60 times in all kinds of views and seasons and in various styles. This is one of his later versions and shows the artist's increasingly abstract style. (Philadelphia Museum of Art)
