  The large theatre is constructed at Argos.

  Theatre of Epidaurus first constructed.

  Theatre of Ephesos constructed.

  The theatre of Delos is built.
• 55 BCE
  Pompey the Great builds the first permanent stone theatre in Rome.
• c. 13 BCE
  Official inauguration of the Theatre of Marcellus in Rome.
• c. 168 CE
  The Roman theatre is built at Thugga.
• 18 Sep 1809 CE
  The Second Theatre of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London opens. The First Theatre had burned down in 1808 and rebuilding began quickly. The Second Theatre opened with a performance of *Macbeth* and hosted many other shows over the years before it burned down in March 1856, leading to the construction of the Third Theatre, opened 1858, still standing today.
