Ruins of the amphitheatre of Uthina, photograph by Carole Raddato, 12 Febuary, 2023.

The amphitheatre of Uthina (Oudhna in modern-day Tunisia) was the third-largest theatre in Tunisia after those at Carthage and El Djem, with a capacity of around 16,000 spectators. It dates to the reign of Hadrian (r. 117-138 CE). An underground vaulted gallery provides access to the amphitheatre's basement, which features symmetrical vaults and rooms beneath the central arena.
